After you have taken you introductory flight it is time to move to the front seat where you will have more control and a better view of the aircraft instruments. Now you are really on you way to become an FAA licensed pilot.

 It is recommended that student pilots schedule their lessons early morning or late afternoon to take advantage of the calmest flying conditions. 

At Blue Collar Aviation we are training pilots to the Sport Pilot standards -- minimum 15 hours dual and 5 hours supervised solo. All pilots will be trained to FAA Practical Flight Test standards using ASA/Adventure Productions training materials we will also direct and help you through your self-paced ground school studies to meet FAA written / practical test requirements. 

FAR Part 103 Ultralight students are trained using the same system with some considerations for the basic lightweight aircraft involved. This will change in 2024, Part 103 Powered Hang Gliding (PHG) instruction will be available in a 2 passenger ultralight PHG. Training is conducted similar to PPG, using an FAA Training Exemption. This training will not count towards a Sport Pilot Certificate.

To meet TSA requirements we will request the following:
1) Bring a photo ID (driver's license) and a passport or a Birth Certificate and a passport size photograph to prove US Citizenship as required by Transport Security Administration (TSA)

Flight Instruction Rates

The Sport Pilot training rate is $240 per Lesson,  average 1.5 hours (30 minutes ground and 60 minutes flight).  Lessons that exceed 1 hour flight time will be prorated at $240 per hour rate.

New for 2024: Powered Hang Gliding (PHG) in a 2 place ultralight trainer. Training rate 1s $220.00 per lesson.

Discovery Flights are $240 for 1 hour, this is basically your first lesson.

 $50 per hour for additional ground instruction.

Practical Test Prep Same as training rates.  Expect 3 hours of flight training (required by FAA) and 2-3 hours of ground.

Sport Pilot Proficiency Check $350 (includes aircraft).

Flight Review $250

Instruction in your aircraft $120 per Hour

All training Flights are provided by Blue Collar Aviation LLC . Due to noise abatement concerns training flights are conducted at neighboring public airports.
